Inaugural Post

 Hello!

My name is Ashley! After this post, I am officially a blogger now! I am 19 and fall under the astrological sign Sagittarius if you’re into astrology. I love photography, am an avid reader, and listen to an unhealthy amount of music every day (almost 3,200 minutes a week!). I hope to travel as I approach my twenties and learn more about the world—and coffee!

My first impression of CSN was quite intimidating. Changing from a regular high school experience to a community college was a drastic turn. I was so used to rambunctious noises all across the hallways that hearing leaves fall on the ground at campus was quite a shock. However, as I got to know more people and went out more, I learned it’s not all books and tumbleweeds.

My experience with the skill I chose—eCommerce safeguards—is quite limited. I know that you shouldn’t use the same passwords or leave your sensitive information out in the open. However, I do feel there is more to safety than just not showing your password to the whole world.

  1. Glad to hear you came out of the drastic turn and is adapting to college, Ashley :-)

Yes, there is definitely more to safety than just not showing one's password to the world as you will see more into IS101-3205, Spring 2025 ^_^

I hope you will learn more about the world -- and coffee? Interesting...

  3. Hello Ashley! I'm a Cancer, and my wife is a Scorpio. Supposedly, we aren't a good match, but I also don't feel like I fit the Cancer description anyway. If that makes any sense, I remember my wife used to be really interested in astrology at the beginning of our relationship. One of the First questions she asked when we were getting to know each other was, "What is your astrology sign?" I was so confused until she explained that I fall under Cancer because of my birthday and that I was sensitive and emotional, but I feel like the complete opposite of that. Then she said that it also had to do with the moon, and that's where she lost my attention. Yes, travel as much as you can, especially before kids, and you'll have so much fun. I wish I did more traveling, but I know one day I will start again, but this time with a whole family on board. Adapting from high school to college is different. I signed up for college one year after high school, took a placement test, and just walked out. I wish that at the time, I could have just stuck through and adapted instead of quitting. So, kudos to you for adapting! You will be very successful in the future.

  4. Hi Ashley! I am so glad you adapted to college life after high school. Traveling is such a great experience and you can make so many key memories. I love listening to music! I am that person that you see singing their heart out in their car at a red light. Password security is so important and there are several things that go into making sure passwords stay secure. I like to use two factor authentication on all my accounts which help validate my login. It gives me a little extra peace of mind knowing that my accounts are still secure if my passwords were ever compromised.

    1. Hi Katelyn! We must be the same person because I too have had many stares from other drivers for my terrible karaoke and dance moves. I am starting to transition to using two-factor authentication!

  5. I don't think there could ever be an unhealthy amount of music! I couldn't think of a better way to enjoy a cup of coffee than to pair with the local music of the places you'll travel. I hope you get to travel and experience even more including the coffees of the world.

  6. Hey there Ashley! My fiancΓ© is very passionate about astrology, and I’m always fascinated by what she teaches me about it. I’m a Gemini, which tends to get mixed reactions! I listen to music every single day, especially lo-fi. I put lo-fi music on whether I’m at work, studying, or just having it on as background noise at home. Best of luck to you this semester Ashley!

    1. Hi Chandler! I think Gemini's are great, as someone who learned her moon is in Gemini, I think just are simply misunderstood, if anything, the most underrated sign out of all the zodiacs! I wish you the best of luck this semester as well!

  8. Hey Ashley! Welcome to the world of blogging! It’s awesome that you’re turning 19 with such a cool mix of hobbies and interests. I totally get how the transition from high school to community college can feel a bit intimidating, but it sounds like you’ve found your way and are starting to enjoy it!

It’s so true that eCommerce security goes beyond just keeping passwords private. There’s a lot about secure transactions, two-factor authentication, and even being mindful of phishing scams.
Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

  9. Hey Ashley! I love astrology, but my knowledge is limited. When I was younger, I used to have the same password for pretty much everything. I’ve since changed that, but it’s hard to remember all the passwords if you’re not keeping track of them. I do have a love-hate relationship with two-factor authentication, but overall, it’s a really good feature to have along with backup emails and phones.

  10. Hi there, I'm a libra, though I forget exactly what the meaning to that one is. Happy to hear you're beginning your journey through higher education nice and early, I've honestly kinda regretted taking a gap and starting late sometimes.

Adjusting to CSN after high school must have been quite a shift, but it’s great that you’re finding your rhythm. As for eCommerce safeguards, you’re absolutely right—there’s a lot more to online security than just keeping passwords private. 12. Hey Ashley! Congrats on officially becoming a blogger! πŸŽ‰ Your love for photography, reading, and music sounds like the perfect combo for creativity. I totally get what you mean about the quietness at CSN—it’s such a shift from high school chaos, but kind of nice in its own way! Excited to see where your curiosity about eCommerce safety takes you, because there’s definitely more to it than just strong passwords. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

  13. Hey Ashley,

I totally feel you what you said about the difference in high-school and college! When I first got onto campus it felt like a ghost town and my first thought was "I was expecting this to be crazy like a typical 90's college movie" haha. This is my first time in college as well and my first semester so I'm with you where it can feel a little intimidating. Just stay strong and focused and do your best and you'll be okay!

  14. Hey Ashley,

I am also a Sagittarius! I am always impressed with people who are able to listen to that much music. I personally struggle finishing playlists and usually end up playing one song and letting my Apple Music decide what to play from there.

  15. Hi Ashley, transition from high school to college is a huge transition. It may seem difficult, but don't worry, I know you will learn to manage your time, and balance school life and also your outside life. The topic you chose, eCommerce safeguards, is an important topic because it teaches us the importance of having a password that is unique and different.

  16. Hello Ashley, I’m not into astrology but I do know that I’m a Scorpio :) Music is therapeutic, it for sure helps me throughout the day. Making a list of the destinations you want to travel to creates a goal and starts making your brain work on how and when you will get there. Also saving more than enough money while being on vacation is amazing too.

  17. Hi Ashley,

I'm not sure what my astrology sign is but that sounds cool. I don't drink coffee but traveling is something I really want to get into. I wish the best!

  18. Hi Ashley! I too am into astrology! I am a Taurus and it makes us people who are more "stubborn" but I just think it's determination! Music means so much to me as well and I rotate between moods and genres all the time! What is your favorite genre or artist?
